From "Made To Crave" by Lysa Terkeurst

Day 2 of 21 day challenge

Thought for the Day: God made us capable of craving so we’d have an unquenchable desire for more of Him, and Him alone. Nothing changes until we make the choice to redirect our misguided cravings to the only One capable of satisfying them.

From "Made To Crave"

                                                                           21 Day Challenge.
                                                                                 Day One
Thought for the Day: Eating in its proper context is not the problem. God gave us food for nourishment, strength, and even celebration. But when pleasure becomes unrestrained, there’s a problem.

I Refuse!

When I heard this song it hit me right in the face. I'm one that has good intentions but rarely follows through with them.  I'm always talking about wanting to help people and doing good things. But then I start thinking there is nothing around here to do.  No homeless shelters to serve at or community service projects to get involved with.  So I just sit and wait for something to come along.
Not anymore!!!

There is so much to do!  The first and greatest thing  I can do is to tell people about Jesus!  About how he loves them and how he can change their lives.  About how a relationship with him can make all the difference in the world.  Then I can show God's love by searching for ways around our community to make a difference not just sitting and waiting for an opportunity to find me.

My daughter Charity Faith is refusing to do nothing.  She is jumping rope to help kids with special hearts!  She is raising money for the American Heart Association!  If you would like to donate to her cause you can do so  at:Jump Rope For Heart
I challenge you to make a difference is someones life today!
If you already Refuse to do nothing enter the I Refuse contest at
But first you have to listen to the song!

What do you crave?   I heard this lady Lysa Terkeurst on the klove morning show a couple of weeks ago.  It interested me because I am in the process of trying to loose weight, and I had just had this conversation with my husband about food.  I was explaining to him(who has no weight issues and could care less about food) that I love food! It is hard to just not eat those brownies and cookies and SNICKERS!  To him, it is ridiculous.  But then we heard Lysa on the radio talking about her new book Made To Crave.  That Friday i got an email for Fabulous Friday deals from and  that book was on Sale for 50% off.  I had to order it.  I did and have just started reading it.  I went to her website  and she is doing a free 21 day challenge.  I have  already signed up.  Want to join me? Just follow the link above.

Has food become more about frustration than fulfillment? Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. Author Lysa TerKeurst personally understands the battle that women face. In Made to Crave, she will help you:
  • Break the cycle of “I’ll start again on Monday,” and feel good about yourself today.
  • Stop agonizing over numbers on the scale and make peace with your body.
  • Replace rationalization that leads to diet failure with wisdom that leads to victory.
  • Reach your healthy goals and grow closer to God through the process.
This book is not a how-to manual or the latest, greatest dieting plan. Made to Crave is a helpful companion to use alongside whatever healthy eating approach you choose — a book and Bible study to help you find the “want to” in how to make healthy lifestyle changes.

Glee Gum: Make your own Candy Kits

Me and the girls had fun with this one! We made our own chocolate candies from scratch. (not by melting chocolate) With actual cocoa butter and cocoa powder.  I love how they include the story behind the products. It is very educational.  Charity (my first grader) took the story and a sample to school  for show and tell.  I had never heard of these before but I was sent one to try.  We chose the make your own chocolate kit.  They also have make your own chewing gum kit and gummy candy kit.   It was really simple and easy enough for my 4 year old to help.  They even included some cocoa beans to try.  My oldest took the shell off for us and we all tried a little bit.  It was very bitter.  The chocolate turned out pretty but was very dark chocolate. I am not a fan of dark chocolate, but my husband loved it, so all is good!   You can order your own at

Computer Crashed!

That's all I can say.  My hard drive went kapluey. No warning, nor reason (although I blame my husband)  He was the last one to touch it before it died.  I was super sick for 3 days and he can't stand the little light flickering on my laptop so he decided to turn it off.  He succeeded all right.  Almost $350.00 later and he has vowed not to touch it anymore. Anyways.  I have a couple of reviews to do on some stuff I received, but no more of the cheesy "Oh you have to try this" stuff.  I just want to be flat out plain about the things I try. You deserve the cold honest truth! And I may rant and rave about something  but it will be because I truly enjoyed the product/experience.  Also I don't want this blog to just be about stuff. There is so much more to life than stuff!  I want it to be a source of encouragement for you.  A little pick me up here and there.  We all know I can't write everyday, and I know you don't have time to read it everyday, so I will try once a week and see how that goes.  Aubree my youngest is finally getting into a routine, so I as well am trying to get back into a routine.  I thrive on routines and list! I make a list for everything.  I am still working on being organized though.  Most of the time I either loose or forget my lists. Anyways I will go for now but we will be talking again soon.
